A number of software vendors have expressed interest in working with NGO providers needing to upgrade their information system in order to produce PRIMHD compliant files. On Wednesday the 18th of August 2010 Platform and the Ministry of Health are hosting a Vendor’s Expo. The vendors will showcase their products in Wellington and answer a set of frequently asked questions. This will enable products to be compared and provide community organisations with the opportunity to ask questions.
Regional coordinators are currently working to establish a video conference
link into this forum in each region. They will provide more information to NGO
providers in the coming weeks. We anticipate that Podcasts from the forum will
be available on the Platform website so that this information can be widely
shared. By the end of June the Platform website will have additional information
such as a list of all the possible vendors willing to work with NGOs to produce
PRIMHD compliant files.
Privacy Pamphlet
The Ministry of Health team has developed a pamphlet on how PRIMHD will protect the information reported on people accessing community mental health services. You can see a copy here: PRIMHD Privacy Brochure

Kyle Hawkins: Canterbury/ West Coast
I'm Kyle Hawkins from Richmond NZ. I have been with Richmond for 5 years and was instrumental in setting up their Client Information System and becoming PRIMHD compliant. Richmond was awarded the PRIMHD regional co-ordinators contract for Canterbury, South Canterbury and the West Coast back in February and we officially started in March. Our contract is until July next year.
Belinda Walker: Midland Regional Technical Support Belinda has worked within the health and disability NGO sector for over 10 years. She has worked in a variety of roles from community support worker through to mental health coordinator and most recently in senior management. Belinda has a strong passion for measurable outcomes and outputs that will ultimately improve service delivery for tangata whaiora, and their whanau and significant others. Belinda has been working with PRIMHD since its inception and prior to that MHINC. She has also been a participant in the National KPI Project and brings this experience with her to her new role. She is looking forward to working with NGO’s to support them implementing and maintaining PRIMHD within their individual services.
Sharan Foga: PRIMHD Phase 3 Project Manager, Ministry of Health. Sharan is project manager for PRIMHD Phase 3. Before coming to the Ministry she worked as Project Office Manager on a European software rollout project based in Paris for PPG Industries. She has previously worked for the Ministry delivering the National Non-Admitted Patient Collection (NNPAC) project in 2006.
Katie Weastell: NGO PRIMHD Project Support, Platform Trust. Katie is based in Wellington at Platform Trust, working part-time with Phillipa Gaines in the role at Platform of NGO PRIMHD project support. She has previously worked for C&C DHB in Mental Health and Addiction NGO service planning and funding, with a small local NGO in projects and management, and is currently a postgraduate student at Massey University. Katie’s role is to support NGOs nationwide to report information.
Platform maintains a national Issues Register which is discussed on a regular basis with the Ministry and which forms part of the agenda for consideration by the Executive Steering Group for PRIMHD. If you have any issues that you think are significant, particularly if they are common to a number of other NGO providers, then please email Phillipa Gaines or Katie.
