In August 2008 the Midland Region was involved in the consultation process undertaken by the Ministry of Health to develop its strategy for people with mental health and addictions problems.  The Midland region workshop had over 60 people attend and contribute towards the strategy.

The Ministry of Health has released two key documents that will support the implementation of the Co-existing Problems strategy:

Te Ariari o te Oranga - The Assessment and Management of People with Co-existing Mental Health and Substance Abuse Problems 2010 by Fraser Todd

Integrated Solution - Service Delivery for People with Mental Health and Addictions Problems 2010 by the Ministry of Health
