In August 2008 the Midland Region was involved in the consultation process undertaken by the Ministry of Health to develop its strategy for people with mental health and addictions problems. The Midland region workshop had over 60 people attend and contribute towards the strategy.
The Ministry of Health has released two key documents that will support the implementation of the Co-existing Problems strategy:

On the 6th May 2010 a workshop was held with key leaders across mental health and addictions within the Midland region being invited. The workshop was hosted by the Ministry of Health to discuss the implementation of the Integration Solutions across the Midland region. Although it was a small group (due to apologies) it was dynamic and provided some great feedback. It was agreed by those present that Midland will roll out after the Central region with work commencing in June with local workshops being held in each of the districts.
