The Midland Regional Mental Health & Addictions Portfolio Managers Group was formed following the evaluation of the regional network. The purpose of the group is defined in its Terms of Reference

Lakes DHB - Marita Ranclaud - marita.ranclaud "at" lakesdhb.govt.nz

Marita is Rotorua born and bred and has a background in mental health nursing with post graduate qualifications in Maori & Pacific Development and Health Science (C & A Psychiatry). Marita is passionate about mental health and has a particular interest in workforce development, youth & Maori mental health issues
Waikato DHB - Katherine Fell - fellk "at" waikatodhb.govt.nz

Katherine Fell has been a Planning and funding Portfolio Manager with Waikato DHB for the past three years. She has worked in the mental health field for the past 20 years, primary in management roles both within the NGO sector and provider division services both in Auckland and in the Waikato. She comes from a nursing background and holds a postgraduate degree Health Science Mental health and health management. In 2008 she will complete a masters in health management.
Waikato DHB - Rachael Poaneki - poanekir "at" waikatodhb.govtg.nz

Rachael Poaneki returns to the mental health and addiction Portfolio Manager role and will focus on the Waikato Addictions sector. Rachael has extensive experience and sector knowledge and is well known within the local and regional sector.
Bay of Plenty DHB - Lesley Watkins - lesley.watkins "at" bopdhb.govt.nz

Lesley is from Whakatane and has an extensive background in mental health social work both in the UK and New Zealand. She has a post graduate diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and a Masters in Social Work involving research on the experiences of Bay of Plenty mothers with mental illness and/or addiction issues.
She is most proud of her work alongside consumers in the Eastern Bay of Plenty to establish consumer-led services and has a personal and professional interest in maternal mental health and family/Whanau inclusive approaches within the mental health & addiction field.
Bay of Plenty DHB - Connie Hui - connie.hui "at" bopdhb.govt.nz

Connie has been a Portfolio Manager for Maori Health, Planning & Funding since 9 January 2006. Prior to this, Connie worked as a solicitor for Te Ohu Kai Moana Trustee Ltd formerly the Treaty of Waitangi Fisheries Commission. She has extensive experience in management and working in the disability sector. Connie currently holds the Mental Health Portfolio for Maori Health, Planning & Funding, BOPDHB.
Taranaki DHB - Jenny James - jenny.james "at" tdhb.org.nz

Jenny James is from Taranaki and has worked for Taranaki DHB Planning and Funding and Provider Arm (through its various entities) over the last 17 years. Her roles have included Business Analyst and various Portfolio areas since the establishment of DHBs. Jenny currently holds the Child & Youth and Mental Health & Addictions portfolio. She is delighted to be taking up the new portfolio at a time when there is lots of challenging and exciting developments underway in the sector.
Tairawhiti DHB - Linda Wilkinson - linda.wilkinson "at" tdh.org.nz

Linda Wilkinson joins the Te Puna Waiora Service Development and Funding team as Mental Health Portfolio Manager as of this week. Linda will be employed with us for 4 days a week.
Linda Wilkinson is Ngati Porou and has a background in nursing. She has a Master of Nursing (Hons MH) and a postgraduate paper in Health Management. Her dissertation subject was problem gambling and the effects it has on whanau, hapu iwi within her local hapu. She has been involved in all areas of nursing, specifically leading a Case Mix Ward in a rural setting and the Mental Health Manager of Ngati Porou Hauora. While in this role she initiated Primary Mental Health, Problem Gambling and Home Based Care initiatives. She was also involved in two change management initiatives. Previous to coming into the portfolio role, Linda was a Needs Assessment and Service Coordinator (NASC) for mental health clients in Tairawhiti
On a personal level she is a member of the Maori Woman's Welfare League, Maori Whenua Trust committee and Taiwhiti Senior Citizens. Priority for Linda in this role will be to lead some of the service developments indicated in the recently released Adult Mental Health Review, ensure the stability of local mental health services, and ensure processes between Funding & Planning, Service Providers and Service Users are transparent.
