The Midland Region Mental Health and Addiction regional plans have been developed through an extensive engagement process involving key stakeholders from each of the districts within the Midland region: Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Tairawhiti and Taranaki.  Consumers, families, Maori, Pacific, providers, clinical leaders and funders have given freely of their time and knowledge.  We sincerely appreciate the goodwill and energy that all participants have contributed during the development phase and know this commitment will continue into the implementation phase.  We are confident that the vibrancy of the Midland region Mental Health and Addictions sector will ensure all of the regional plan's success.

The Midland regional plans presents a vision, aims and objectives that will guide the DHBs in the Midland region, and all other key stakeholders, over the next ten years.  The plans are supported by a detailed and comprehensive Needs Assessment that informs our state of knowledge about Mental Health and Addictions needs and services across the Midland region.

Midland Regional Mental Health and Addictions Strategic Plan 2009-2015

The MR MH&A Strategic Plan 2005 has been re-written to include clear alignment to Te Tahuhu's 10 Leading Challenges.  The plan has been widely consulted and was signed off by the Midland GMs Planning and Funding and Maori Health in November 2009.

Midland Region Eating Disorders Strategic Plan 2008 - 2015

The MR Eating Disorders Plan was developed using a Eating Disorders Reference Group comprised of members from across the Midland region and across the primary, secondary and teritary sector.  The Midland plan was signed off by the Ministry of Health in August 2009.

 Midland Forensic Futures Strategic Plan 2008 - 2015

The MR Forensic Furtures Strategic Plan was developed in consultation with the Midland adult mental health and addictions sector and was signed off by the Ministry of Health in August 2009.  The plan is relevant to Taranaki, Waikato, Lakes and Bay of Plenty DHBs.  Tairawhiti DHB receive Forensic services from Capital and Coast DHB.  As identified in the MR FF plan six montly Stakeholder reports have been developed and will be published on this page.
