The Midland Region Mental Health and Addiction regional plans have been developed through an extensive engagement process involving key stakeholders from each of the districts within the Midland region: Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Tairawhiti and Taranaki. Consumers, families, Maori, Pacific, providers, clinical leaders and funders have given freely of their time and knowledge. We sincerely appreciate the goodwill and energy that all participants have contributed during the development phase and know this commitment will continue into the implementation phase. We are confident that the vibrancy of the Midland Region Mental Health and Addictions sector will ensure all of the regional plan's success.

Midland Region Eating Disorders Strategic Plan 2008 - 2015
The MR Eating Disorders Plan was developed using a Eating Disorders Reference Group comprised of members from across the Midland region and across the primary, secondary and teritary sector. The Midland plan was signed off by the Ministry of Health in August 2009.

Midland Mental Health & Addictions Needs Assessment Project 2011
The Midland Region Needs Assessment 2005 was completed prior to key data being available to the region. For example, Te Rau Hinengaro and PRIMHD data. Further to this, the Midland Clinical Services Plan has been developed and excludes mental health and addictions. These factors have contributed to the need to re-do the Midland Needs Assessment to ensure that it is current.

Midland Region Mental Health & Addictions Needs Assessment 2005
The Midland regional plans presents a vision, aims and objectives that will guide the DHBs in the Midland region, and all other key stakeholders, over the next ten years. The plans are supported by a detailed and comprehensive Needs Assessment 2005 that informs our state of knowledge about Mental Health and Addictions needs and services across the Midland region.

At the request of the Midland region Portfolio Managers forum, a project was undertaken to identify how the region is delivering Needs Assessment and Service Coordination services and compare our service delivery to national developments. Midland Co-existing Problems Startegic Plan 2010 - 2015
A regional approach was undertaken to develop the Midland Co-existing Problems (CEP) Strategic Plan 2010-2015 which was signed off by the Ministry of Health in January 2011. Taranaki, Lakes, Bay of Plenty and Tairawhiti DHBs contributed to its development. Waikato DHB elected to develop a separate plan.
DHB specific Implementation Action Plans for the four contributing DHBs are included in the plan.

Lets get real Midland NGO Evaluation Forums
The Midland Regional Network secured funding to conduct five NGO Lets get real Supporting People, Supporting Change Workshop Evaluation forums that were undertaken in November - December 2010. These workshops wil be hosted by a regional provider and facilitated by Ruth Choudharey with support from Eseta Nonu-Reid.
The purpose of the workshops is to identify any issues/barriers of using the LGR Enablers in each region and how this information can be used to assist the development of further resources to support the implementation of LGR in the NGO organisations.

Real Skills Plus Seitapu Workshops - Midland Evaluation Report
Lets get real is a national frameork that describes the essential knowledge, skills and attitudes required to deliver effective mental health and addiction services. It was launched by the MoH in September 2008. Le Va: Pasifika within Te Pou developed Real Skills plus Seitapu and launched it in May 2009, as the Pacific component of the Let's get real framework. Taranaki CAMHS and Maternal Continuum Project
The Taranaki CAMHS Continuum project involving DHB provider arm and NGO services has been completed with the sign off of the final report. Sandra Broadman, GM Planning and Funding stated that it was an excellent piece of work that has provided some clear directions for the Taranaki sector.

Midland Forensic Futures Strategic Plan 2008 - 2015
The MR Forensic Futures Strategic Plan was developed in consultation with the Midland adult mental health and addictions sector and was signed off by the Ministry of Health in August 2009. The plan is relevant to Taranaki, Waikato, Lakes and Bay of Plenty DHBs. Tairawhiti DHB receive Forensic services from Capital and Coast DHB. As identified in the MR FF plan six montly Stakeholder reports have been developed and will be published on this page.
