Belinda Walker, Midland MH&A PRIMHD Technical Support Coordinator

I was privileged to receive sponsorship from Midland Regional Mental Health & Addictions Network in 2007 to attend health and disability auditing training level 4 provided by the DAA Group. I am now a member of my organisation's internal audit team and recently had the experience of being a lead auditor for them. I have been part of a number of different types of audits, including quality of life, and have also been a consumer auditor for the DAA Group.
Kelly Ware, Senior Consumer Relationships Advisor, Waikato District Health Board

I have been involved in He Tipuana Nga Kakano for a while now and have enjoyed the times we come together. After a few years in I feel like I am an active member of this group and feel privileged to have been sponsored by this group to be one of eleven Consumers trained in Auditing last year. It was an intensive training which I enjoyed immensely and look forward to using in practice. Auditing is a wonderful way of making sure that all services are performing at an appropriate level from which they can continue to progress. I enjoy the opportunity to see the innovation our services have to offer and help encourage others to be all they can be.
Lisa Rose Hall, Consumer Advisor, Pathways Trust, Taranaki

Apart from completing the DAA Quality Auditing Course in 2007, I have also completed the ‘Certificate of Competency for Internal Auditing' run by ‘New Zealand Organisation of Quality' in 2006. For the last three years I have been an Internal Auditor of my own organisation Pathways Health LTD, were I travel around New Zealand auditing our different regions. With all this experience I would now like to extend my expertise to External Auditing and am currently available for External Auditing Agencies to contact me to be apart of their teams. I am interested in Auditing NGO Mental Health Providers but also would be interested to be apart of Auditing DHB Mental Health Services.
Adele Winikerei, Waikato Consumer Advocate, Progress To Health

In 2007 I was one of the lucky few who received a scholarship to get my qualification as Auditor. I was interested in doing this training because it would give me a qualification that is both nationally and internationally recognised. I had had experience as a Consumer Auditor with Health Share and Telarc Sai, but had no formal qualification. Auditing is a job I enjoy - finding it rewarding to see the standard of services tangata whaiora are receiving. I see auditing as a way to improve services that don't meet a high standard, to constructively feedback to services on improvements required, for the betterment of generations to come!
