Welcome to the Midland Mental Health & Addictions Workforce Development page.  The intention of this page is to provide you with regular updates on workforce development activities at regional and national levels.  Information provided will be from direct links to the five National Workforce Development Centres and Te Pou National Workforce Coordinator alliances.  The page will endeavour to highlight any upcoming events, hui or conferences relevant to the Midland region and ensure you are not missing a beat for any workforce development initiatives coming our way. 

Anything and everything relevant to Mental Health and Addictions workforce development will be available to view on this page so you are well informed.  I welcome your input.   Please feel free to send me your own local activities to showcase - and photos are appreciated!!

'News Flash Hot off the Press'

WoW 2010 is here and we have alot of New and Exciting activities happening for Workforce Development.  I am happy to advise that the Midland region is leading nationally with the NGO Lets get Real Workshops, you are a great region and have certainly demonstrated your committment of ensuring your services are well kept up to play with national frameworks and being actively involved of supporting that the Seven Real Skills are apart of your infrastructures by 2011 - WELL DONE MIDLAND MENTAL HEALTH AND ADDICTIONS SECTOR!!

Lets get Real NGO Update - Midland Region

The final two NGO Managers and Leaders Lets get Real workshops are to be delivered in Waikato (3rd February) and Tairawhiti (17th February).  Both workshops will be faciliated by Helen Brownlie, Project Lead, Lets get Real and Haehaetu Philips. 

 

Lets get Real DHB Implementation Planning

 Te Pou National Workforce Team and the regional coordinators are meeting on the 5th February in Wellington to formulate the national Lets get Real DHB implentation plan.  Watch this space for further updates on the Midland regional plan and when I will be coming to your DHB.

Takarangi Core Competency Training Evaluation  - March 2010

The Takarangi Core Comptencey Trainings that were delivered in the Bay of Plenty and Lakes DHB regions will be evaluated in March 2010.  The purpose of the evaluation is to determine how the competencies are being effectivley demonstrated in course participants respective workplaces and also to identify regional champions.  Watch this space for evaluation dates and venues.
