What Midland did with the Infant Perinatal MH&A Funding
In 2015 the Ministry of Health provided a small amount of funding for Infant Perinatal Mental Health and Addiction. The Midland region chose to use its funding to provide:
- Wrap around packages of care
- Attachment training provided by Dr Denise Guy
- E-Learning Tool for Support Workers in partnership with the Central Region
The graph trends illustrate the numbers of Maternal/Perinatal Mental Health face to face and non-face to face contacts for the Midland DHBs & NGOs combined over a period of six quarters (January 2015/June 2016). There is a marked increase in the last quarter figures for Hauora Tairawhiti primarily because their Maternal Mental Health team was established early this year.
